中国传统香席的主要流程

中国品香历史悠久,主要流行于文人之间,至宋朝,好友相聚、日常居家、礼佛修道都会熏香品香,共同分享,由此而出现了香席的文化传统。

北宋时,人们将品香与点茶、插花、鉴古并称为“四般闲事”,明代时期在家中办香席招待亲友、客人已经非常流行于文人之间,但在清朝以后,随着外来文化的入侵,传统的香席活动日渐没落。

直至最近一些年,随着沉香收藏的越来越热,越来越多人喜欢上收藏沉香、品香,香席活动也逐渐增多。在这里向大家介绍一下中国传统香席的主要流程:

第一步:品香,由炉主介绍所用香料和出香工具的使用。

第二步:坐香,先初品,起清鼻去杂味之用,然后鼻观,欣赏香气,最后回味香气。

第三步:课香,用书法等方式表达品香体验,接受文化的熏陶。香席是“经过用香功夫之学习、涵养与修持后,而升华为心灵飨宴的一种美感生活。”所以,香席既不是与改善气味有关的薰香行为,亦不是与宗教活动有关的焚香。

事实上,香席是一种通过“香”作媒介,来进行的文化活动,所以也不是单纯嗅觉上品评香味的品香。

也就是说,“香席”不是在寻求精神上的“归宿”和“慰藉”,而是一种人生品味的升华。

闻香观烟是很有意思的,袅袅清烟变化无穷,一会儿收,一会儿放,一会儿紧,一会儿松,有时打折,有时回转,宽细结合,变化微妙。一炉香,一缕烟,既可静思,又能洞察梵烟缥缈。凝神静观缕缕清烟,或笔直冉冉而上,或迂回缭绕而行;时而旺炽澎湃如坠五里雾中;时而形单孤拔如绝壁卓然静逸。潜心摄受入鼻根之香气,或馥郁、或清新、或雅致、或醇厚……香的千姿百态,如梦似幻,似假还真,一如众生实相,皆是存在与虚无相续间的泡影。

透过对香的观照,能感得这层深意,无怪乎香严童子能够闻香入道、孙陀罗难陀能观鼻息出入如烟而证得圆通了。尘里偷闲 清净心身
